Who are SMAS Worksafe?

SMAS Worksafe are a Health and Safety (H&S) assessment company and one of the largest and most recognisable Member Schemes of SSIP. Ours is a online assessment where we assess your company’s H&S systems against the SSIP Core Criteria to attain a certificate which is recognised nationwide by 000’s of construction organisations.

All of our in-house assessors are qualified H&S professionals and have completed the SSIP Assessor Training. We continue to provide and pride ourselves on the high level of customer service we provide and this is something we’re very proud of providing all our members, clients and consultants. 

What is SSIP?

Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) is the recognised industry standard for H&S in procurement. The scheme is supported by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and the standard is accepted by many nationwide construction companies including Taylor Wimpey, Redrow and Bovis Homes. 

SSIP has streamlined the process from buyers, suppliers and companies by providing an automatic prequalification for contracts within each sector. Gaining an SSIP certificate through SMAS will enable you to show high levels of health and safety management and is a simple way to prove that your company takes health and safety very seriously.

Why should I get a SSIP certificate with SMAS Worksafe? 

SMAS Worksafe is the fast, friendly and most cost effective way to achieving the SSIP standard.

Achieving and holding a valid SSIP certificate allows your company to tender to work for such companies as Redrow and Taylor Wimpey, who both request companies hold a SMAS Worksafe certificate. Your company is also able to demonstrate that your company has met the SSIP ‘core criteria’ and hold H&S in high regard.

We aim to turn all our assessments round in just 3 to 5 days and if you have any questions you can call and speak to the assessor completing your assessment. 

Completing you application online means that when you come to renew your accreditation 12 months later, you can save up to 40% of the work required. 

We have a flat-rate pricing structure. The price of our assessments doesn’t increase if your company has more staff or if your company has a large turnover, our price is set the same for everyone.
