We are thrilled to announce a new partnership between Smas Worksafe and First Milk, the British farmer-owned co-operative dedicated to producing sustainable, high-quality dairy products. This collaboration brings together Smas Worksafe’s expertise in Health & Safety compliance with First Milk’s vision of farming sustainably to secure a better future for generations to come.
First Milk has long stood as a leader in sustainable agriculture, pioneering regenerative farming techniques and making environmental stewardship a core focus of its operations. From award-winning cheeses to specialist dairy products, they continue to redefine how the food industry approaches sustainability. With a B Corp certification and initiatives focused on climate action, sustainable sourcing, and water conservation, First Milk is committed to making dairy a force for good.
Smas Worksafe is proud to partner with First Milk and be the SSIP scheme of choice for their supply chain. As part of this partnership, all contractors involved in First Milk projects will now be required to hold a valid SSIP certificate from Smas Worksafe by 24 May 2025.
Neil Shawcross, Business Unit SHE Manager at First Milk, stated “We at First Milk are excited to unveil our new partnership with Smas Worksafe. By joining forces with Smas Worksafe, we are further strengthening our commitment to maintaining the highest standards and fostering a safe working environment. This collaboration will help optimise our Health & Safety compliance processes, and we are eager to see the positive impact this initiative will have on our operations and the well-being of everyone involved”.

Their dedication to sustainability aligns seamlessly with our own mission to create safer, more responsible workplaces. Together, we’ll not only protect workers but also contribute to a future where businesses, communities, and the environment thrive.”
