We’re delighted to welcome aboard Fox Construction Solutions (FCS) as our latest partner! Founded by John Fox in 2015, FCS has spent the last 10 years making waves across Cornwall, working on iconic landmarks like the Truro City Hall clock tower.

Despite humble beginnings as a one-man operation, FCS has continued to grow from strength to strength. In 2019, they welcomed Kevin Bate as equal business partner and co-director – a move John Fox describes as “the single best decision I have made since deciding construction was the industry for me way back in 1985.”

And now, Smas Worksafe is delighted to partner with FCS as their dedicated SSIP provider, helping to support and manage their supply chain. As a result, all contractors involved in Fox Construction’s operations will be required to hold a valid SSIP certificate with Smas Worksafe from 11 November 2025.

“Fox Construction is proud to announce its partnership with Smas Worksafe to achieve SSIP certifications for contractors we use within the industry. This collaboration underscores our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of Health & Safety in all our construction projects.” Says Fox Construction.

“By working with Smas, a leading provider of safety assessment and certification services, Fox Construction aims to streamline its procurement processes and demonstrate compliance with industry best practices. The SSIP certification will enhance our reputation for delivering safe, reliable, and compliant construction services to our clients.

“We look forward to the benefits and support this partnership will bring in reinforcing our safety culture and supporting continued growth and excellence in our operations.”

Ricky Couling, Head of Commercial at Smas Worksafe, has said, “We are pleased to welcome Fox Construction Solutions as a Smas Worksafe client. FCS has already gained Smas SSIP certification for the past three years, so we’re proud to make the partnership official. We’re looking forward to helping them continue to grow and achieve even greater things across their home county of Cornwall.”
