Smas Worksafe are proud to announce our new collaboration with Morro Partnerships as their dedicated SSIP provider.

Since their first Affordable Homes Project in 1992, Morro have been committed to developing sustainable, quality homes across the Midlands, transforming brownfield sites and championing Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) to recycle waste wherever possible. Working with organisations and groups across the Midlands, including Birmingham City Council, Solihull Community Housing, NHS Trusts, and Bournville Village Trust, Morro have curated a large portfolio of affordable homes to help support their local communities.

Now, to maintain compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, Morro have partnered with Smas to manage their Stage 1 Health & Safety requirements.

Matt Moore, CEO of Morro Partnerships, commented: “Partnering with SMAS Worksafe was a straightforward decision for Morro Partnerships. We operate across a diverse subcontractor base, and a recognised, robust prequalification scheme gives us confidence that the businesses we work with meet the standards we expect.

It removes ambiguity, reduces the administrative burden of vetting, and gives our clients reassurance that health and safety compliance sits at the heart of how we procure. Just as importantly, SMAS delivers that credibility in a way that remains practical for subcontractors of all sizes.”

Ricky Williams-Couling, Head of Client Services at Smas Worksafe, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Morro on board, and we’re proud to have been chosen as their SSIP scheme of choice. We are eager to get started and make good on Morro’s motto of being ‘better tomorrow makers’ – which starts by ensuring all contractors on Morro’s sites are certified to excellent standards of Health & Safety.”

From 30 September 2026, any contractors looking to join Morro’s approved contractor list and remain eligible for future tendering opportunities must have achieved SSIP certification through our Worksafe package.
