Since 2008, Westbourne have been providing quality engineering services, including highway development, sewer maintenance, and groundwork, to Manchester and the north of England.
As part of their dedication to Health & Safety for everyone involved in their projects, Westbourne have partnered with Smas Worksafe. This means that, from 10 July 2026, any contractors wishing to work with Westbourne Civil Engineering will need Worksafe certification from Smas Worksafe. This will certify them to the level of SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement).
If any contractors already have SSIP certification with another company, they can use our Deem to Satisfy service to “passport” their certification over from their original provider to Smas.
Scott Holland, Managing Director of Westbourne Civil Engineering, commented: “We’re excited to announce our new partnership with Smas Worksafe. This collaboration will help streamline our Health & Safety compliance, allowing us to dedicate more time to enhancing practices and policies that continuously improve site safety for our staff and subcontractors. We look forward to the positive impact this initiative will bring.”
Ricky Williams-Couling, Head of Client Services at Smas Worksafe, has said: “Having already achieved ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 accreditation, Westbourne are dedicated to maintaining excellent standards of Health & Safety. Our new partnership solidifies this resolve, and we look forward to helping Westbourne’s engineers stay safe and compliant on site.”
