Worksafe Plus (formerly PQQ)
Industries such as manufacturing and construction will use pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs) to help shortlist potential candidates in the tendering process. These questionnaires assess a contractor’s Health & Safety details and overall competency – but they can also be time consuming and admin-intensive.

1. Identity: Captures your company’s core identity and legal information, including official registration details, contact information, workforce information, trade activities, and associations with other companies.
Proves your business is legally registered and able to operate.
2. Health & Safety: The standard SSIP assessment available through Smas Worksafe. Includes an online assessment of your safety policies and any related procedures and records.
Proves your Health & Safety procedures are updated and appropriate for the task at hand.
3. Financial and Business Standing: Assessment of your business’s financial history, including cash flow and financial practices. Particularly important for buyers planning long-term or high-value projects to ensure contractors are financially capable of delivering the work. Documents needed include bank references, audited account statements and insurance documents.
Demonstrates to key buyers that your business is stable unlikely to go into administration, therefore rendering you unable to complete the work that has been awarded.
4. Corporate and Professional Standing: Ensures ethical, compliant, and lawful business conduct in regards to anti-bribery, fraud, and anti-slavery.
Shows to clients that your business is ethical and advocates for fair working practices.
5. Environmental Management: Assesses your environmental responsibility and compliance, such as your commitment to reducing waste and carbon emissions. Also includes evaluation of your training, reporting, and overall environmental policies.
Proves to buyers you take your environmental impact seriously, and are actively working to stay as environmentally responsible as possible.
6. Quality Management: Looks at your quality assurance systems, and how you will deliver high quality products to your clients within reasonable time frames – and how you will manage your contractors and subcontractors to do the same.

7. ESG: Optional Endorsement module. Assessment of effective environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. Includes questions on environmental management, carbon footprint, labour standards, and transparency. Aligned with PAS 2080, FSC, BES 6001 and ISO 14090.

8. Building Safety Act:
BSA-A
Optional Endorsement module. Strand A of the Building Safety Act 2022. Assessment of compliance against core building-safety expectations for duty holders in design and construction, based on the competence themes in BS 8670-1.
BSA-B
Optional Endorsement module. Can only be completed alongside BSA-A. Strand B of the Building Safety Act 2022, assessing your compliance across additional responsibilities for working with higher-risk buildings, e.g. duty holder competence, implementation of strict design and construction controls, and fire safety. Aligned with PAS 8671 and PAS 8672.
