How to use this Site Management mock test

This SMSTS mock test is designed to get you ready for the real exam. Familiarise yourself with SMSTS test questions and how to answer them for the best chance to pass first-time.   

  • Question count: There are ten multiple-choice practice questions. The real exam consists of 18 multiple-choice questions and seven written questions. 
  • Passing score: You need to achieve a pass mark of 80% or higher to pass the real exam, plus you must also pass all ‘safety-critical’ questions. 
  • Timing: The real exam usually allows 35 minutes, so try to complete the test within that time! 
  • Results: Your results will be displayed instantly once you submit your final answer.

What is CITB Site Safety Plus (SSP)? 

Smas Worksafe’s SMSTS course is part of the CITB’s Site Safety Plus scheme. This sets out the rules and regulations needed to create CITB-approved courses throughout the construction industry, so that all participants receive the best training possible.

What qualifications do you need to be a Site Manager? 

To become a Site Manager, there are several routes and qualifications you could take, including: 

  • Getting your Level 6 NVQ in site management 
  • Earning a CITB Site Safety Plus Certificate (SMSTS) 
  • Earning a CSCS Black Manager Card 

You’ll need a combination of practical experience, Health & Safety training, and professional qualifications. You can achieve these through a mixture of work experience and dedicated courses, like Smas Worksafe’s SMSTS course.

What topics does the SMSTS mock test cover?

The practice test contains ten questions, based on the five modules from the SMSTS course:

What happens if I fail the real SMSTS exam?

If you fail the SMSTS exam but achieved above 72% you can be offered an immediate re-sit which you can take on the same day. However, if you fail the re-sit, youll need to take the full SMSTS course again.
